ONGC partners with PowerGrid to propel India’s green hydrogen and clean energy future

This partnership emphasize the commitment of each enterprises to drive sustainable energy growth and assist India’s climate aims

ONGC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PowerGrid Corporation to collaborate on green hydrogen and clean energy ventures. The MoU was signed on 12 December 2024 in Delhi with the aid of Chief JV&BD (Downstream, Petrochemical and New Energy), ONGC, S.K. Dwivedi and CGM of PowerGrid Sunil Kumar Gupta. The ceremony become graced by Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs), ONGC, Arunangshu Sarkar and Director (Personnel), PowerGrid, Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, along side senior executives from both the side of the organizations.

This partnership emphasize the commitment of both enterprises to drive sustainable energy development and support India’s climate aims through reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promotes a low-carbon economy. The collaboration aligns with the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) application which goals are to put India as a worldwide leader in green hydrogen manufacturing, use, and export.

Director (Strategy & Corp. Affairs), ONGC, Arunanghshu Sarkar stated, “This MoU marks a vast step towards a cleanser energy future. We sit up for working with PowerGrid Corporation to make green hydrogen a possible choice.”

Director (Personnel) of PowerGrid Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi brought, “We are excited to associate with ONGC. Together, we are able to accelerate India’s transition to a low-carbon economy.”

Chief (JV&BD), ONGC, Satish Kumar Dwivedi commitment the force toward sustainability and decarbonization and briefed about ONGC’s diverse projects toward energy transition and business diversification in keeping with ONGC’s Energy Strategy and Net zero commitment.

ONGC’s Energy Strategy 2040 dynamic renewable energy goals, including attaining a renewable energy capability of 10 GW by 2030 and carrying net zero carbon emissions for scope 1 and 2 by 2038. This collaboration with PowerGrid is a great milestone in ONGC’s chasing of those aims, because it expanded into numerous renewable energy sectors consisting of solar, wind, green hydrogen, and geothermal.

As India keeps to develop and grow, partnerships like this could play a crucial position in shaping the country’s energy future, assuring a sustainable and wealthy path ahead.
