Godavari Biorefineries, Synthomer to together develop bio-based monomers

Godavari Biorefineries Ltd. (GBL) has declared a recent partnership with UK-based polymers firm, Synthomer, to develop bio based options to present fossil based monomers.

Through this partnership, Synthomer will commercialize bio-based butyl acrylate using bio-based butanol manufacturing through GBL.

Mr.Samir Somaiya, Chairman and Managing Director of GBL, commented, “Sustainability is essential to our business strategy and innovation agenda. This collaboration with Synthomer shows our commitment to expanding bio-based options that allow significant reductions in carbon footprint throughout the value chain. By using renewable feedstocks and our incorporated biorefinery capabilities, we purpose to work with and guide our companions and clients in transitioning away from fossil-based materials towards more sustainable solutions. Partnerships such as this are essential to increasing the adoption of green chemistry and contributing to a more round and resilient chemical industry and to our vision of forming a beautiful world.”
