Braskem Siam will manufacture bio-ethylene for SCGC, a good way to use it as feedstock to provide bio-primarily based Polyethylene (bio-PE) that has a negative carbon footprint and is recyclable, similar to conventional polyethylene. This addresses the developing demand for environmentally friendly polymers inside the Asian and European markets and aligns with Thailand’s development aims in ethanol manufacturing for sustainability. This collaboration will improve the development of ethanol fee chain in Thailand, as well as particularly promote a low-carbon society.

Salin Panichsarn, Deputy Managing Director of Braskem Siam, supplied an update on the progress of the bio-ethylene plant, announcing, “We are presently estimating the construction of the plant at the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate in Rayong Province. This facility will combine Braskem Brazil’s expertise in bioplastics technology with SCGC’s Green Innovation. It may be the primary plant of its type outside of Brazil. The goal is to supply bio-ethylene from ethanol derived from agricultural products, replacing fossil fuel-based totally ethylene, with a production capacity of 200,000 tons per to year. This might be the primary bio-ethylene production plant in Asia. The plant is anticipated to be finished by 2027. Braskem Siam has an calculated ethanol feedstock required of over 450 million liters per year, and we are sourcing high-ability ethanol feedstock both domestically and internationally.”

Thunyawee Pongwattanasuk, Managing Director – Ethanol Business of Mitr Phol Bio Fuel, stated, “As one of the region’s largest ethanol supplier, this Letter of Intent aligns with our method to extend beyond the fuel sector and boost our contributions to the bioplastics industry. Mitr Phol Bio Fuel is prepared to help Braskem Siam and all stakeholders in manufacturing and delivering the great ethanol had to force the establishment of the bioplastics manufacturing plant in Thailand.”
