Braskem Siam will manufacture bio-ethylene for SCGC
Braskem Siam, a joint project among SCG Chemicals (SCGC), a main combined polymer business for sustainability, and Braskem, the global leader in bioplastics from Brazil, has signed a Letter of Intent with Mitr Phol Bio Fuel, a part of the Mitr Phol Group to supply agricultural primarily based ethanol for the manufacturing of bio-ethylene.
Braskem Siam will manufacture bio-ethylene for SCGC, a good way to use it as feedstock to provide bio-primarily based Polyethylene (bio-PE) that has a negative carbon footprint and is recyclable, similar to conventional polyethylene. This addresses the developing demand for environmentally friendly polymers inside the Asian and European markets and aligns with Thailand’s development aims in ethanol manufacturing for sustainability.
