AMAI 2026: Charting the next decade of growth for India’s alkali sector

Deepankar Aron, Joint Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC) will launch AMAI’s 11th Annual Alkali Industry Conference on 11-12th February, 2026 at Andaz by Hyatt, New Delhi.

Alkali producers Association of India (AMAI), the apex body signifying the Indian Alkali industry, reinforced by the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India, is managing the “11th Annual AMAI Alkali Industry Conference – Shaping the Future: Markets, Technology, and Sustainability” nowadays in New Delhi.

Sebastian Eckardt, Regional Practice Director for Prosperity in the South Asia Region, World Bank and Dr. Richard Charlesworth, Executive Director and Global Head of Industry Processes & Cost Analytics, S&P Global Energy will deliver keynote address at the conference.

“This conference comes at a very considerable moment for our industry. We are living via a phase wherein change is no longer incremental—it’s far structural. The challenges before us are exceptional, but so are the opportunities. I consider this conference is exactly about learning, unlearning, and relearning together,” stated Aditya Shriram, President, AMAI and Dy. Managing Director, DCM Shriram Ltd.

The 2-day conference will have 6-sessions. It has been formed to cover the whole Alkali producing ecosystem. Beyond knowledge sharing, it’s also a platform for collaboration, networking, and partnerships.

The conference is likewise designed to assist stakeholders audit marketplace shifts, determine latest technology alternatives, explore strategic opportunities, and build deeper industry collaborations.

On Day 1, there will be session on Alkali industry: market traits and outlook; Overview of end-use segments like soaps & detergents and alumina; and Transforming Alkali production: protection, sustainability, and decarbonization. Day 2 may have session on Next-generation developments in chlor-alkali electrolysers; Excellence in technologies and logistics; and Smart solutions for production in Alkali industry.

The 2-day convention will witness 400 participants from 145 firms, with representation from 15 international locations, making this a virtually worldwide trade of ideas. AMAI Annual Alkali Industry Conference & Exhibition 2026 will bring collectively worldwide energy professionals, protection specialists, generation licensors, system providers & vendors, Indian and worldwide producers, logistics professionals, industry leaders, regulators, and sustainability leaders.
