Japan-based totally Nissan Chemical Corporation is establishing a dedicated production facility for its new herbicide Ryzonic (iptriazopyrid) at its Indian joint venture, Nissan Bharat Rasayan Pvt. Ltd. (NBR), in Saykha, Gujarat.

NBR was created in 2020 as a joint venture between Nissan Chemical and New Delhi-based Bharat Rasayan Ltd., one of India’s leading agrochemical producers. The jv started its first plant at Saykha in March 2023.

The latest facility is scheduled for completion and commencement of operations in fiscal year 2028, ahead of Ryzonic’s planned commercial release in Japan and India in 2027, to be followed by wider global enlargement.

Ryzonic is a proprietary rice herbicide discovered and developed by Nissan Chemical and it’s far anticipated to reinforce the position of the Japanese agrochemicals major in the particularly competitive global paddy rice market.
