Japanese chemicals corporation, Zeon Corporation, and US-based sustainable chemical maker, Visolis, have declared a success of completion of a joint feasibility research and initiation of preparatory steps toward construction of a brand new manufacturing facility.
The proposed facility, for which multiple sites are being calculated, is intended to help industrial-scale production of bio-based isoprene and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) the usage of Visolis’ proprietary fermentation and downstream processing technology. “The feasibility research confirmed the competitive benefit of Visolis’ platform for manufacturing high-purity isoprene and SAF at industrial scale and in addition to solidified Zeon and Visolis intent to collaborate carefully on scale up of the technology for each isoprene and SAF manufacturing,” Zeon said. The corporation is now exploring next-phase planning activities, which includes precise engineering, site assessment, permit ting, and stakeholder engagement.
Zeon and Visolis will continue working carefully to evaluate venture milestones, interact with relevant authorities, and verify marketplace call for in preparation for potential construction.
