INEOS Inovyn has accepted to sell its shares in INOVYN Produzione Italia SpA, the company operating its Rosignano and Tavazzano sites in Italy, to Esseco Industrial.
The deal signifies a considerable reshaping of INEOS Inovyn’s Italian footprint, managing ownership of two main chemical manufacturing sites to the Italian industrial group, awaiting regulatory approvals anticipated to be finished in 2026.
The Rosignano site—Italy’s biggest domestic chlor-alkali plant—manufactures caustic soda and chlorine and employs more than 160 humans. The Tavazzano facility produces sodium hypochlorite and has a workforce of 25.
Together, the sites supply vital chemicals used across important sectors such as pharmaceuticals, energy, water treatment, food, defence, and construction.
In spite of the sale, operations are set to persist unchanged in the near term. INEOS Inovyn will stay in control of both sites till the transaction closes, without a disruption anticipated to clients or supplier arrangement.
Its research and development activity at Rosignano will remain with INEOS Inovyn and be created, subject to any needed legal consultation process.
The buyer, Esseco Industrial, is the industrial arm of the Esseco Group, an Italian chemical organization with more than a century of history.
Now in its fourth geeneration, the company functions in 10 nations with 8-manufacturing sites, which includes chlor-alkali facilities at Pieve Vergonte and Saline di Volterra. It employs around 725 people and serves about 2,500 customers across the organic and inorganic chemicals sector, with a robust target on sulfur derivatives and chlor-alkali manufacturing.
