Eyes for import substitution and exports to US and Europe markets

Epsilon Carbon, a main global producer of carbon black introduces first-rate-in-class N134, a specialized Hard Grade carbon black regarded for its advanced abrasion resistance and durability.

Recently, the top notch N134 grade is being imported because of the lack of steady quality and supply chain problems in the Indian market. As a end result, the tire corporations adjust their formulations the use of other grades of Carbon Black, frequently leading to decrease overall performance.

Epsilon Carbon may be the primary Indian corporation to install a devoted production unit designed for generating the N134 grade hard carbon. This development addresses a long- standing challenge of the struggle to source constant, high quality N134 carbon black faced by using the domestic and worldwide tire industries. In India, till now, tire producers have depended closely on imports to meet their overall performance necessities for top rate tires utilized in heavy good automobiles and excessive-overall performance passenger cars, where wear on resistance is vital for both protection and mileage.

Vikram Handa, Managing Director, Epsilon Carbon, said at the release, “This is a proud moment for us and for India’s carbon black production quarter as the high fine quality N134 black will appreciably reduces import reliance and provide tire producers in India and aboard with a reliable, high quality product. Our aim is to match global requirements even as building India’s capability to serve premium markets.”

This incredible N134 Hard Black may be manufactured from Epsilon Carbon’s newly enlarged facility on the Vijayanagar carbon complex, which now has a manufacturing capacity of 215,000 tons of carbon black.

With the new unit, the corporation is targeted on advanced processing techniques to make certain batch-to-batch consistency which a main aspect for applications wherein durability and overall performance are vital. The corporation entry into this space no only supports the government’s ‘Make in India’ and import substitution initiatives but also opens doors for exporting to high-end global tire markets in the US & Europe.

As the worldwide required for performance tires continues to grow, Epsilon Carbon’s N134 grade will play a critical position in affecting the country’s position in the global carbon black industry.
