China, Japan, South Korea will jointly reply to US tariffs, Chinese state media says

China, Japan, and South Korea admitted to join forces in reaction to U.S. tariffs highlighting supply chain cooperation and discussing export controls

During Sunday’s meeting, the nations’ trade ministers admits to “closely cooperate for comprehensive and excessive-stage” talks on a South Korea-Japan-China free trade settlement deal to sell “regional and worldwide trade”, according to a agreement delivered after the meeting.

The ministers met ahead of Trump’s planned release on Wednesday of more tariffs in what he calls “liberation day”, as he defeats Washington’s trading partnerships.

Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo are predominant U.S. trading partners, even though they had been at loggerheads amongst themselves over troubles such as territorial disputes and Japan’s launch of wastewater from the wrecked Fukushima nuclear power plant.
