BASF is entering onto the CIPPE stage for the first time, going for run June 9–11 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.

The global chemical company is using of its debut appearance to push a clear message: combined technologies are becoming central to next-generation chemical manufacturing, especially in China’s fast-developing petrochemical sector.

BASF will introduce four core areas optimized to industrial demand in the Chinese market: petrochemicals and intermediates technology licensing, advanced chemical catalysts and adsorbents, gas purification and environmental solutions, and customized high-pressure equipment.

A key focus is its catalysts and adsorbents portfolio, formed to enhance performance, product quality, and operational dependability across petroleum and petrochemical processes.

Among the key solutions are advanced hydrogenation catalysts for C3, C4 and pygas streams, providing stable yields, high efficiency and flexible feedstock adaptability. The company is likewise presenting purification systems such as Selexsorb, Puristar and Prosorb for petrochemical and refining applications.

Environmental performance is another key theme, with BASF emphasizing its gas treatment catalysts which include DeNOx, VOCat and DeN2O, targeted toward helping operators meet emissions standards and carbon reduction targets.

On the technology licensing side, BASF is promoting a suite of established method technologies evolved over decades of operational experience, including SYNCRA process technologies spanning oxo-C3, oxo-C4, high-purity isobutene, isooctenes, oxo-C9 and methacrylic acid.

Other emphasized offerings consist of Polytetrahydrofuran (PolyTHF) 1800 technology for the spandex value chain, methylamines manufacturing, formic acid technology, and OASE gas treatment systems.

The company is also highlighting its long-standing expertise in high-pressure equipment, engineered for conditions attaining up to 3,600 bar. The portfolio consists of solid-wall reactors and vessels (without or with inliners), double-jacket tubular reactors, heat exchangers, piping components, and valves.

Beyond the exhibition floor, BASF will participate in the Industry Forum. Shahab Taebi, Global Technology Licensing Director in the Petrochemicals Division, is scheduled to present on June 9, explaining how BASF’s integrated solutions assist more efficient and dependable chemical operations.

As BASF makes its CIPPE debut, the company is explicitly positioning itself not just as a supplier of technologies, but as a systems partner for industrial-scale transformation in petrochemicals and intermediates.
