Strengthening its position in rice herbicides marketplace, expects EBIDTA growth of 20%

Crystal Crop Protection Limited, a pioneer in agricultural creation, introduced the global acquisition of the active component Ethoxysulfuron from Bayer AG for income in some Asian countries. This acquisition mark Crystal’s 13th strategic transaction and second accession from Bayer after the accession of Indian Cotton, Pearl Millet and Mustard seed portfolio in 2021.

Backed through International Finance Corporation (IFC), Crystal Crop is an R&D-based crop solution enterprise supplying advanced, farmer-centric solutions for over four decades. This is among the largest accession of Crystal, which shall increase its EBITDA through 20% while bolstering its leadership within the rice herbicide marketplace.

The transaction brings the trusted Sunrice trademark and the mixture product holding Ethoxysulfuron, in conjunction with all registrations. Ethoxysulfuron is known for efficiently controlling broad leaved weeds and sedges in rice and cereal plants, making it a key addition to Crystal’s portfolio. The acquisition agreed with Crystal’s task of offering price-powerful, sustainable solutions by means of production the product locally, ensuing in more advantageous cost synergies and accessibility for farmers in India, South Asia, and South-East Asia (which includes Vietnam, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Pakistan).

Crystal’s understanding of the rice ecosystem makes this accession a natural fit, improving its capability to assist farmers with comprehensive solutions from seed to reap. The enterprises increasing presence in South Asia and South-East Asia by its partnerships and accession strengthens its position as a frontrunner inside the agricultural solutions marketplace.

Crystal Crop Protection has shaped a recognition for using inorganic growth by strategic accession. This purchase follows the acquisition of I&B Seeds earlier in the year 2024, marking its regular efforts to diversify and enlarge its offerings in crop safety, seeds, and farm mechanization. Over the years, Crystal has received brands from leading worldwide players like Syngenta, FMC, Bayer, BASF and Dow-Corteva continually reinforcing its position as an industry chief.
