Tata Chemicals North America has disclosed that its subsidiary, Tata Chemicals Soda Ash Partners LLC (TCSAP) has signed a letter of motive (LOI) with BWXT Advanced Technologies LLC (BWXT) to discover the deployment of up to eight nuclear microreactors.

BWXT and TCSAP were participating from Sept. 2023 at the feasibility of integrating BWXT’s Advanced Nuclear Reactor (BANR) for electricity and industrial processing at TCSAP’s Green River, Wyoming production site.

“With this LOI, TCSAP and BWXT coincide with increase their partnership to include the development of commercial phrases and conditions to conditionally buy BANR microreactors from BWXT and set up the time table and key milestones along the route to deploying them by the early 2030s, in addition to together figuring out the techno economic parameters essential to show conditional reactor purchase commitments into an energy buy agreement,” a declaration from Tata Chemicals said.
