The project, which reached FID in August 2024, includes 2 x 640MW Pressured Alkaline Electrolysers for the manufacturing of green hydrogen

Rely has been awarded an EPsCm covenant by way of AM Green India for its 2 x 1500 tons per day (TPD) Green Ammonia Complex at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India.

The project, which reached FID in August 2024, includes 2 x 640MW Pressured Alkaline Electrolysers for the production of green hydrogen, making it one of the world largest green hydrogen provision to move to execution phase.

The projects includes conversion of an existing Grey Ammonia facility (erstwhile NFCL) to Green Ammonia facility. It is strategically located on the Kakinada seaport on the east coast of India, within the nation of Andhra Pradesh.

The development has reached its final investment decision (FID) in August 2024 and could supply 1 million tons in keeping with annum (Mtpa) of RED3 RFNBO compliant Green Ammonia, most of a good way to be exported to the European marketplace. It will benefit from a spherical-the-clock carbon loose strength, way to a mixture of wind, sun strength and pumped hydro storage system.

The facility has already received CertifHY pre-certification for Green Ammonia making it the first organisation to gain this milestone for tasks primarily based out of India.

Rely will offer design, targeted engineering, procurement offerings, construction management and commissioning offerings (EPsCm Services) for the whole facility, consisting in electrolyzers for Green Hydrogen Production, air separation gadgets for nitrogen, trains of ammonia synthesis, ammonia storage, ammonia loading facility on the port and offsite utilities. The Pressured Alkaline Electrolysers may be supplied via John Cockerill Hydrogen.

The project will be completed by India, thanks to lengthy standing track records and strong presence in India of its two mother enterprises Technip Energies and John Cockerill.

In addition to the Kakinada venture, AM Green is also focused on the manufacturing of green ammonia across more than one locations in India to achieve its planned 5 MTPA of green ammonia potential by means of 2030, that is anticipated to boost up efforts to attain net zero targets in India as well as in OECD markets. This may be equivalent to about 1 MTPA of green hydrogen, representing a 5th of India’s target for green hydrogen production under the country’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and 10% of Europe’s targets for green hydrogen imports via 2030.

Damien Eyriès, Rely CEO commented: “We are honored and proud of having been selected by AM Green to engineer and deliver this flagship project so as to vastly make a contribution to the decarbonization of the hard to- abate industries and illustrate that India plays a major role in our global climate goals. This award marks a widespread milestone for Rely, less than a year after its creation, and our team is poised to make a substantial impact on the future of clean energy, driving innovation and putting new standards within the industry.”

Mahesh Kolli, Group President of AM Green stated, “We are excited to associate with Rely to transform our existing Green Ammonia facility into one of the largest in India. Rely’s technical expertise with significantly enhance our capabilitiesin th venture. This collaboration not only establishes AM Green as a global leader in strength transition however also plays a crucial role in advancing India’s green hydrogen challenge and helping net-zero targets in both India and OECD markets.”
