Investment proposals of 67,000 cr signed in Gujarat’s Petrochemicals Sector

The event, ‘FutureChem Gujarat: Shaping tomorrow’s Chemicals and Petrochemicals Industry’, brings underneath one umbrella policymakers, practitioners, and national and international academicians to discuss destiny initiatives.

“The manner petrol and chemicals are being traded in Gujarat, Gujarat is shifting towards becoming the hub of this industry. Therefore, these days an MoU worth ₹ 67,000 crore has been signed to similarly enhance this enterprise,” Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said, taking part in the occasion.

The occasion is in particular targeted at the petrochemical region of the state. Holding the best share in India’s chemical and petrochemical exports, Gujarat is rising as the US’s hub for specialty chemical compounds.

Of the USD 94.6 billion chemical industry in India in 2017-18, USD 31.5 billion was contributed by using Gujarat.

Gujarat holds a share of 41% of India’s total chemical and petrochemical exports, accounting for 5 in keeping with cent of India’s total and 27% of Gujarat’s overall exports, respectively.

The state has four refining complexes with a combined potential of 102 million tonnes per annum.

The pinnacle 10 export destinations are America, China, Brazil, UAE, Germany, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, South Africa, and Belgium.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit was initiated by way of Narendra Modi in 2003, then leader minister, to place Gujarat on the sector map of change and industry. The 10th edition of the Summit might be held from January 10 to 12, 2024.

The Summit occasion could be inaugurated through PM Modi on January 10.
