Hy Genco’s green ammonia secures RFNBO pre-certification from Bureau Veritas

This pre-certification paves the way for Hy Genco to export green ammonia to the European Union

Hy Genco Green Energies, a pioneer in evolving green hydrogen and green ammonia assets, declared taking the Renewable Fuel of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) pre-certification from Bureau Veritas underneath CertifHy scheme.

This pre-certification paves the way for Hy Genco to export green ammonia to the European Union, further promoting its operation to produce sustainable energy solutions and reinforce its commitment to a greener future. Hy Genco is only amongst the two Indian firms to attain this feat.

The CertifHy scheme, officially recognized by the European Commission, allows end-customers around the EU to access Green Hydrogen or low carbon hydrogen. It gives a comprehensive framework for certifying renewable hydrogen and e-fuels, making sure complete compliance with EU policies and worldwide standards. Hy Genco’s commitment to those strict standards was into very well audited by the Bureau Veritas, a globally recognized trying out enterprise.

Hy Genco’s approaching green ammonia plant, placed at Tata Steel’s Special Economic Zone Industrial Park in Gopalpur, Odisha, pursuits to produce to a total of 1.1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) upon complete of achievement. The venture, which is deliberate in multiple levels, with Phase 1 and Phase 2 each having a production capacity of 600 tonnes per day, will have the first segment operational by 2027.
