Henkel and Dow expand partnership to emission reduction throughout adhesive portfolio

Henkel Adhesive Technologies and Dow have expanded their long-term strategic partnership to boost up decarbonization in adhesives production throughout technologies.

As a first step, low-carbon feedstocks and renewable electricity will be released into Henkel´s hot melt adhesive manufacturing approaches contributing to a product carbon footprint reduction between 20 and 40% relying at the individual product line.

This effort will assist Henkel’s target on SBTi relevant carbon-emission reduction beginning within the hot melt portfolio serving the packaging and clients goods adhesives industry.

“Our collaboration displays Henkel’s ambition to drive meaningful change in industrial sustainability,” stated Jenna Koenneke, Sustainability Director at Henkel Adhesive Technologies. “By incorporating low-carbon materials and technique-emission reduction levers like renewable electricity, we continue to set a precedent for the how value chain partnerships can increase sustainability.”

“This collaboration shows the requirement for low carbon products in the market and the ambition to rise the investments needed to assist the industry and value chain reach their net zero goals. We are proud to preserve on this journey with Henkel,” stated Peter Sandkuehler, Senior Business Sustainability Director at Dow.
