DuPont has formally broken ground on a latest Molykote specialty lubricants production facility in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, indicating a huge expansion of its global manufacturing and innovation footprint. Located in the Yangtze River International Chemical Industrial Park in the Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone, the plant is planned to start operations by early 2027.

The investment comes as Molykote reacts to increasing demand for advanced lubricants throughout China’s transportation, industrial, energy, and electronics sectors. The latest facility promises rapid manufacturing, shorter lead times, and closer collaboration with local customers, placing DuPont to supply next-generation lubricant solutions with speed and precision.

“Today’s pioneering marks the beginning of a new chapter in our journey to better serve our customers in China, develop rapid, and solve crucial wear and friction challenges across industries,” stated Eugenio Toccalino, Vice President and General Manager of DuPont Molykote. “This facility will support local capabilities for software and formulation development, empowering real-time consumer collaboration.”
