China Ministry Launches Anti-Dumping Investigation

China’s Commerce Ministry on Sunday stated it had launched an anti-dumping research into imports of a crucial engineering chemical from the European Union, the USA, Taiwan, and Japan.

Beijing said it might probe imports of polyoxymethylene copolymer, a thermoplastic utilized in the whole lot from telephones, automobile elements, and medical equipment.

The research will take a year however could be prolonged by way of 6 months, the Commerce Ministry stated.

The probe follows several comparable investigations with the aid of the EU into China’s subsidies for its industry.

Last month, the bloc released a probe into China’s scientific gadgets marketplace over alleged unfair procurement practices.

Beijing said the probe amounted to “protectionism” and warned it’d harm the EU’s picture.

It also follows sharp hikes in U.S. Tariffs on Chinese imports like electric motors and semiconductors.

The U.S. Is trekking tariffs on $18 billion worth of imports from China, focused on strategic sectors like electric cars, batteries, metal, and critical minerals, the White House stated on May 14.

The tariff price on EVs will quadruple to 100 percent this year while the one for semiconductors will surge from 25 percent to 50 percent with the aid of next year, stated the White House.

The movement is aimed at encouraging China to “eliminate its unfair alternate practices concerning era switch, intellectual property, and innovation,” it brought in an assertion.
