The venture converts crude glycerin from biodiesel manufacturing into extremely-low carbon intensity bio-oil for use in sustainable aviation fuel.

Biotechnology corporation Cemvita is pioneering the front-end engineering with Radix for a circular bio-oil venture in Brazil in order to convert crude glycerin into feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel.

Ap per the corporations, the collaboration targets to converts the bioproduction procedure into an industrially implementable configuration. Radix is responsible for expanding the engineering, industrial layout basis and scalability framework, using its experience with large-scale industrial ventures.

Radix worked with Cemvita to clarify working limitations, test premises and align the biological technique with industrial constraints, the corporation stated. The effort is proposed to advance the venture in the direction of a buildable asset and decrease execution risk.

Cemvita stated its method permits crude glycerin, traditionally a low-value biodiesel byproduct, to function a feedstock for ultra-low carbon intensity fuels. The corporations added that the layout may be deployed throughout biodiesel facilities to assist broader adoption.

As per Cemvita, a venture originally designed for the USA was adapted for Brazil by engineering modifications, decreasing cost per ton of bio-oil by approximately 40% through equipment selection, utilities, layout and incorporation changes.

The corporations stated the engineering approach is meant to be replicable throughout biodiesel sites, assisting a more circular bioeconomy by upgrading waste streams into higher-value products. The venture is moving by development levels with a aim of attaining final investment decision in 2026.
