Avient Corporation, a leader in materials developments, has revealed its latest liquid additive for the Latin American market.
The liquid additive — Hiformer Non-PFAS Process Aid with Antioxidants (AO) — offers film packaging manufacturers a non-fluorinated alternative without deliberately delivered PFAS, while expanding Avient’s existing non-PFAS technology and including antioxidant capability for polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) processing.
“The Hiformer Non-PFAS Process Aid AO series is a liquid additive product for PP and PE applications formed to assist reduce friction among the polymer and metal,” Avient stated. “This can result in simpler extrusion to reduce melt fracture as well as die build-up, and reduce torque to assist better throughput.” The product’s liquid formats permits for typical loading dosage rates of 0.1-0.5%.
Designed for each non-food and food contract applications, the additive meets relevant FDA compliance standards for food films. “By integrating antioxidants into the procedure aid package deal, the AO collection gives film producers an extra alternative for addressing processing and overall performance requires within a single additive solution,” Avient added.
The release responds to developing demand for non-PFAS solutions amid evolving authorities policies on certain PFAS substances.
Avient’s providing supplies regulatory compliance without settling overall performance, aligning with the characteristics of traditional fluoropolymer-based solutions. The AO series complements Avient’s present non-PFAS portfolio, together with Hiformer Non-PFAS PPA in Asia and parts of Europe, and Cesa solid process aids in the US.
