PPG introduces non-BPA PPG HOBA coatings for aluminum bottles at Paris Packaging Week

Product received certificate of recognition at 2025 ADF invention awards

PPG declared the growth of its non-bisphenol A (BPA) HOBA internal coatings line with the release of PPG Hoba Pro 2848 coating. This solution encounter the developing needs to package water, wine and other beverages in aluminum bottles.

“For 50 years, PPG Hoba coatings have supplied high-performance, non-BPA solutions for aluminum aerosol cans and tubes utilized in personal care products including deodorants, haircare, shaving creams and cleansers,” stated Hella Gourven, PPG worldwide personal care coatings segment manager, Packaging Coatings. “With this increase, PPG brings its valid skills to the booming marketplace in which aluminum bottles are rising as a selected sustainable packaging preference for water, wine, beer and other drinks.”

Designed for monobloc aerosols, collapsible tubes, and aluminum bottles, PPG Hoba coatings give improved internal safety. PPG Hoba Pro 2848 coating is a non-bisphenol, PFAS-NI and non-phenolic inner liner offering a reliable, sturdy and extraordinarily versatile solution for personal care, beverage, pharmaceutical and food products.

“As an improvement of PPG Hoba 2845 coating, this new technology gives can-makers and brands a responsible solutions approach to package a number of products which include wine and sparkling wine. We are proud to provide our clients valid, high-performing solutions – believed for over 50 years, within the personal care market and further,” stated Gourven.
