Repsol is making an investment of €2.5 million in its specialty plant in Palencia for a brand new paraffin pearl production line. The multi-energy enterprise continues its commitment to the industry in Spain via investments that drive innovation, sustainability, and economic development.
This investment in the Palencia facility will increase the plant’s manufacturing ability by 33% and contributes to direct job creation in the city, with the addition of new jobs. The products manufactured at this factory are crucial for supplying the value chains of various sectors, along with candles, tires, boards, and construction.
The Mayor of Palencia, Miriam Andrés, congratulated Repsol on behalf of the entire town for seeking how, after 4 decades long time of work, the Palencia factory “develops and diversifies its production, creating direct and indirect jobs and enhancing the local financial system.” In this regard, the Palencia councilor expressed her satisfaction at participating as mayor in an event of this nature, where a new funding is being offered that guarantees “employment and wealth inside the present and future.”
For her part, the President of the Palencia Provincial Council, María Ángeles Armisén Pedrejón, expressed her gratitude to Repsol for its commitment to Palencia. “Betting on Palencia isn’t just much investing in a geographical location; it’s about making an investment in the talent of our people, the quality of life we offer, and a province that looks to the future with ambition and self assurance.” She added that she is aware of that “socioeconomic development is most effective possible if the public and private sectors work hand in hand.”
