Perstorp has evolved this portfolio to permit the reduction of the carbon footprint and VOCs of alkyd formulations
Perstorp, a main global innovator in specialty chemicals and an entirely owned subsidiary of PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG), introduces the Neptem variety for alkyds, a portfolio of emulsifier solutions allowing the subsequent generation of low-performance, low-VOC waterborne alkyds.
Perstorp has evolved this portfolio to permit the reduction of the carbon footprint and VOCs of alkyd formulations by allowing a flawless transformation to waterborne alkyds.
Helene Dérand, Vice President of Invention, adds: “Our new variety of Neptem products redefines what’s feasible for waterborne alkyds. It is widely known that waterborne alkyds has a substantially lower climate footprint than solvent primarily based. By allowing a smooth transition far from solvent-based resins, we are supporting our customers future-proof their enterprise and lead the industry toward a more sustainable future.”
“With many years of experience in specialty chemicals, Perstorp remains at the leading edge of innovation,” says Dr. Oliver Eyrisch, Vice President for Resins & Coatings. “This series of Neptem products for alkyds suggests our commitment to utilize the sustainable transformation of our industry at the same time as providing in high-overall performance solutions that expect the future demands of the coatings industry.”
Further supporting its originality, Neptem emulsifiers develop the ability of waterborne alkyd resins, accommodating a broader range of alkyds with exceptional oil lengths than ever before, making it viable to formulate beyond the traditional applications.
By providing technical aid Perstorp positions Neptem for alkyds as a product and as a partnership, making sure resin producers benefit access to formulation assistance and give advantages from a flawless transition to waterborne technologies.
Perstorp will exhibit the Neptem variety for alkyds for the first time on the European Coatings Show in Nuremberg, Germany, on March 25-27.
