Technical assessments and polymer qualification are in progress because the corporations evaluate pathways to scale post-user recycled material.

Invista, producer of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers, introduced it has signed an agreement with Epoch Biodesign to improve the development of post-users recycled nylon 6,6. The collaboration brings collectively enzymatic recycling technology and polymerization expertise with the target of manufacturing virgin-quality nylon 6,6 at commercial scale, as per the declaration.

The collaboration will reportedly integrate AI-engineered recycling enzymes with polymer processing and worldwide production capabilities to tackle technical challenges related with recycling nylon 6,6. The material is broadly used throughout apparel, automotive and industrial applications, but accomplishing steady overall performance from recycled feedstocks stays a barrier to broader adoption, the corporation said.

In a press assertion, the corporation referred to the work will proceed by technical assessment and polymer qualification, followed by way of application performance testing out. The two corporations target to verify material overall performance with customers as a part of the development process.

The declaration follows a leadership transition at Invista, wherein Nancy Kowalski will think on the function of president and CEO effective March 1, 2026. Kowalski most currently cause the corporation’s global nylon business, overseeing operations in China, Europe and the US, together with supply chain and feedstock procurement activities.

As per the corporation, Kowalski succeeds Brook Vickery, who will retire after more than 30-years with Invista’s parent corporation Koch. The corporation stated the leadership change will no longer have an effect on ongoing operations or development programs, together with the nylon 6,6 recycling collaboration.
