The new HDPE plant will be combines into IOCL’s Paradip complex

LyondellBasell (LYB), the world’s largest licensor of polyolefin technologies, today declared that Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) has chooses on its Hostalen Advanced Cascade Process (Hostalen ACP) technology for a new 500 kiloton per year (kta) high-density polyethylene (HDPE) facility in Paradip, India.

The new HDPE plant will be incorporated into IOCL’s Paradip complex, one of India’s largest incorporated refinery-petrochemical complexes. Located on the eastern coast of India in the state of Odisha, the Paradip facility performs a strategic function in serving the developing polymer marketplace in the Indian subcontinent. The complex, which incorporates a 15 million tonnes per year refinery, will advantage the addition of this modern day HDPE unit to its existing petrochemical operations.

“This association illustrates our devotion to constructing durable partnerships that deal with our clients’ particular needs while contributing to international solutions,” stated Patrik Schneider, Director of Global Licensing at LYB.

“The low pressure slurry HDPE technique is already widely known to the Indian market and the resins are much admired by of converters throughout all sectors.”

This marks the 8th technology license agreement among LYB and IOCL, further promoting the connection among the two enterprises. In total, more than 2,500 (kta) of polyolefin capacity have now licensed, with the other licenses having been set up at IOCL’s Paradip but additionally on the Panipat sites. IOCL not simplest operates Hostalen ACP process technology but is likewise a main Spheripol PP process technology operator in India.

The new plant will utilize LYB Avant Z501 and Avant Z509-1 catalysts to manufacture a comprehensive range of multi-modal HDPE products. The Hostalen ACP process allows the use of a single catalyst family based on Ziegler chemistry to manufacture the entire variety of resins, thereby keeping off the manufacturing of decrease-value transition products.

The Hostalen ACP process technology manufacturing excessive-overall performance, multi-modal HDPE resins that set industry standards for stiffness to toughness balance, effect resistance, and stress cracking resistance. These improved substances handle crucial applications in infrastructure pipes however also sets a popular in film, blow molding, and caps & closure production, imparting considerable processing benefits to end-users.

New licensees can take benefit of LYB in-house experience of non-stop production enhancement, sustainable product expansion and catalyst knowhow, with the aid of optionally joining our Technical Service application.
