Gujarat CM inaugurates GACL’s chlorotoluene plant at Dahej

The newly inaugurated India’s largest plant, built for Rs 350 crore, has an annual manufacturing ability of 30,000 tonnes

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel virtually inaugurated India’s largest Chlorotoluene plant, mounted by using Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) at Dahej on its foundation day.

The newly inaugurated plant, constructed for Rs 350 crore, contains an annual manufacturing capability of 30,000 tonnes and is predicted to create round 1,000 direct and indirect job opportunities. Also, GACL’s new Chlorotoluene plant is ready to generate approximately Rs 130 crore in foreign exchange chemical exports to Europe, America, and South Asia.

The new plant will utilize chlorine to produces value-added chlorine-primarily based products like Benzyl Chloride, Benzyl Alcohol, and Benzaldehyde.

“The enterprise has begin the manufacturing procedure of Chlorotoluene plant at Dahej Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendrabhai Patel has virtually inaugurated Chlorotoluene plant from Dahej. Providing more information, GACL’s Managing Director and Secretary to the Chief Minister, Avantika Singh, IAS said that GACL, a Gujarat Government initiative mounted in 1973, presently handles 3 manufacturing units—two in Dahej and one in Vadodara—manufacturing over 35 products, which includes caustic soda.

Over the past five decades, GACL has extended its manufacturing capacity and launched new products. GACL contains an annual manufacturing capacity of over 8 lakh metric tonnes of caustic soda and holds the distinction of being the only producer in India of Sodium Chlorate and Hydrazine Hydrate.

Patel virtually inaugurated GACL’s new plant at Dahej, in the sight of Pankaj Joshi, Chief Secretary; S S Rathore, Chief Minister’s Advisor; Manoj Kumar Das, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister; Praveena DK, Managing Director of GIDC; together with senior officials of GACL and the district management.
