In a big step towards more secure and more sustainable water structures, SABIC, a worldwide leader in the chemical industry, has introduced a next-generation material developed to supply exceptional strength and effect resistance—without depending on traditional butadiene-based effect modifiers.

By disposing substances that might potentially diffuse into drinking water, SABIC’s latest innovation — NORYL WM300G resin — not only expect future regulatory limitations but also sets a new performance benchmark for water management additives consisting of faucets, valves, and meters.

“Outline on our deep specialization and years of experience in water management, SABIC expects clients’ future requirements by resolving problems which include new feasible regulatory restrictions on butadiene,” stated Sergi Monros, vice president, SABIC Polymers, Specialties BU.

“The latest NORYL WM300G resin provides a drop-in replacement for the incumbent resin and can provide progressed properties, presenting a seamless change to the latest material technology.”

New NORYL WM300G resin is formulated without conventional effect modifiers — the latest product utilize innovative effect chemistry that enhance processing stability to keep away from the release of butadiene, even as ensuring high effective overall performance and high strength to meet burst stress test needs in showers heads, faucets, valves, water meter internal components and other components.

NORYL WM300G resin gives 20 to 30% higher burst strength (80-81 Mpa) in comparison to its legacy counterpart, NORYL 713S resin, at 64-65 Mpa, as per the corporation.

The latest product also surpasses the incumbent NORYL resin in fatigue overall performance and flexural and tensile modulus. It features an attractive surface appearance, low moisture absorption and appropriate dimensional stability. It is also food contact compliant and is formulated without bisphenol A (BPA), the corporation stated.
