India poised to emerge to be global hub for green hydrogen innovation: Minister Naik

India’s quest to attain Net Zero by 2070 received fresh momentum as Union Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy, Shripad Yesso Naik, referred to as upon scientists, industry leaders, beginning and young researchers to make India a global hub of green hydrogen innovation.

Managing the valedictory session of the primary Green Hydrogen R&D Conference organized via the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) below the National Green Hydrogen Mission, Shri Naik stated that the 2-day event had brought together the finest minds to chart the nation’s path towards a clean, stable and self-reliant energy future.

Naik stated that India has launched into an motivated journey to gain Net Zero by 2070 and to put itself as a global chief in clean energy. “At the heart of this journey lies green hydrogen, a fuel that promises to decarbonize our hardest-to-reduce sectors, open new trade frontiers, and make a cleaner and more secure future,” he stated.

MNRE has by now helped more than 200 R&D venture in renewable energy, fuel cells, hydrogen, and storage technologies. Committed investment, testing out facilities, and incubation programmes have been generated in order to Indian researchers and innovators have the ecosystem to change thoughts into breakthrough solutions. “This very conference is an testimony to our collective resolve, to make India’s laboratories into launchpads, and our startups into global champions,” Naik stated.

He referred to that the release of the call for proposals for hydrogen startups during the conference is yet every other step to empower them, decreasing boundaries, and rapid-track innovation. “For our youth, I have a simple message: think beyond incremental change. Pursue to design disruptive solutions which can shape the world’s energy future,” he stated, encouraging institutions to grow interdisciplinary hubs wherein academia, industry and entrepreneurship converge.

Naik stated this mission is about more than clean energy, it’s about economic growth, commercial competitiveness, and environmental duties. Green hydrogen will power the steel, cement, fertilizer, mobility, and delivery sectors, assist reduce import dependence, generate excessive-value jobs, and set up India as a main exporter within the emerging global hydrogen economy. “At a time while nations are designing cross-border carbon regulations, India’s leadership in green hydrogen will make sure that our industries stay competitive and future-ready,” he added.
