Casale bags $465M EPC contract from Atome for Paraguay green fertilizer venture

Casale, a international chief within the technology, engineering, and creation of ammonia and fertilizer plants, proudly declared the signing of a definitive $465 million Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract with ATOME PLC. This innovative settlement marks the initiation of the worls’s first green fertilizer plant in Villeta, Paraguay, set to manufacture zero-carbon fertilizers on a big scale the use of totally renewable energy.

The Villeta venture, with its flagship venture in Paraguay will manufacture 260,000 tonnes of zero-carbon fertiliser per year the using of 100% renewable baseload power, substantially improving decarbonization of agriculture and food value chains within the Mercosur location. Once built, the Villeta venture will service a improved and prepared market in the heart of the largest food-manufacturing region in the world, meeting important requirements for low-carbon fertilisers from the agriculture and food sectors.

Olivier Mussat, CEO of ATOME, stated: “ATOME is extremely joyful to declare the signing of our EPC Contract with Casale, on time and on the right track to our venture schedule. The Villeta site advantages from a 145MW renewable power buy settlement and is situated in a tax-free region, improving each sustainability and economic benefits. With a total predicted fee of US$625 million, the venture includes a strategic collaboration with industry leaders such as Yara, Hy24, AECOM, Natixis, IDB Invest, and ANDE. This partnership no longer only underscores the collective drive to innovate however also solidifies the venture’s foundation in leveraging outstanding technical specialist and international industry leadership.
